If you qualify for Section 232/232(f) financing through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a new program is available which may make HUD financing more appealing to you. The "LEAN" program was introduced during 2008. With this program you still receive the benefits that HUD financing has to offer, while a few of the less appealing aspects of HUD financing have been improved. The process of obtaining HUD financing has been significantly streamlined to reduce processing time and increase consistency. Under the "LEAN" program the process to obtain financing more resembles conventional financing. Additionally, HUD has promised a staff that understands the Health Care Industry and is dedicated to the health care segment.

New Account Executives

You know these individuals as Project Managers - your main contact at HUD. All health care facilities with Section 232 financing will be reassigned to an Account Executive. An Account Executive will replace your Project Manager. You should look for a notification from HUD with the related information for this important contact. Account Executives are members of HUD's Office of Insured Health Care Facilities who have health care industry knowledge.
